When we allow ourselves to be enlightened by the light

St. Chrysostom , speaking of the pride , says : " The more you do works, seeking to crush the pride , the more you stimulate the ". And what is the cause of this? Let us say the same holy Doctor : "For everything bad comes from bad , only vainglory from good , and , therefore, is not extinguished with good but more inflated ."The devil, dear father, knows that a lustful , a thief , a miser , a sinner, have more reason to be ashamed and blush to boast that , and , therefore, is careful to tempt them that way , and they Save this battle. But not good saves , especially when striving to strive for perfection . All other vices which stand only are defeated and dominated by them, but the pride looks up precisely those people who fight and overcome . Is emboldened to assault their enemies , using the same victories they have achieved against her. It is an enemy that never stops , it is an enemy that enters battle in all our work and, if you are not vigilant , it makes us victims.Indeed , we, to escape the adulation of others, and prefer the hidden secrets to visible fasting , silence , speaking eloquently , be despised, to be taken into account ; contempt , honors . Oh, my God . Here again , the pride you will, as they say, stick your nose acometiéndonos with vain complacency.

Always and everywhere you need to discover the intention of all that word or deed do, as we run the danger of being deceived by the cunning of the enemy into thinking that everything we do is good and therefore putting atop our attitudes . How dangerous is not always accustomed to question and be able to evaluate our right intention . So as the Apostle of the Gentiles says , " let him who boasts boast in the Lord." Certainly all that belongs to us are our vices and sins , yet with all that, we realize that it is the Spirit of God that enables us to discover our sin and limitation. Of course when we put the light in front of a mirror is when we can see the stains , the dirt from imperfections . Similarly when we come face to God , when we let ourselves be enlightened by the light of the Holy Spirit , then all our imperfections not as a battlefield , but appear as a space for the grace of God to work in us, that cleanse us , we embellish, and we hermosee . So what we have to brag about? Everything is God's work and it's not us by his grace , by his merit and mercy. To Him be glory , praise and honor for ever and ever. Amen .
