 Our earthly life is slowly dying on us, just as he must make us die in our imperfections. Imperfections, it is true, that pious souls who suffer, may also be sources of merit and compelling reasons to acquire virtues, because through these imperfections, we got to know ever better the abyss of misery that we are, and they we drive to exercise ourselves in humility, in contempt for ourselves, patience and effort.
My son, I do not know what impression will result in your letter this poor soul, but everything I have written at the foot of the crucifix.
